The Birds of Canada
This comprehensive work of reference covers all 518 bird species known in Canada from historic times to the present. Over 420 species are beautifully illustrated in colour. Black and-white drawings occur throughout the text to clarify complicated points. Flight silhouettes are provided to facilitate recognition of hawks and shorebirds on the wing.
Information on birds is arranged under various headings: measurements, habitat, field marks, nesting (including incubation periods), total range, range in Canada, and subspecies. For each species, English, French, and scientific names are provided.
