Russian Aircraft

Hugo Hooftman

Aero Publishers Inc Fallbrook California, hardcover with dustjacket, illustrated.
Cover design and Scale Drawings by Uwe Feist.

Mr. Hugo Hooftman, author of RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT, has spent many years collecting and preparing material for this outstanding book. His task in gathering information was made more difficult because the Russian aircraft factories do not have public relations officers to assist in obtaining photographs and data on the latest Soviet aircraft. Because official information has not been made available, all important information about Soviet aircraft has been speculative. In his book, Mr Hooftman attempts to clarify this confusion by including figures and details regarding dimensions, performance, weight, powerplant and armament, on each make of plane known to the Western World.
Among the extremely informative chapters there is a review of record making long distance flights, details of the world's largest and heaviest airliner and the mighty supersonic Yakovlev "Fiddle" warplane, considered the most dangerous now in the service of the Soviet Air Force.
There is completely detailed description of the Beriev BE-10 "Mallow", a twin-jet flying boat used today in the Soviet Naval Fleet, a potential menace to our Polaris submarine. You will find data on the Mig 15, over 15,000 have been built-more than any other jet fighter in the world.
