Jean Houston, gevormd door Tillich en Teilhard de Chardin, schreef bij de af­beeldingen een diepgaand essay over de belevingswereld en het beeldend vermo­gen van de schilderes, die zij terecht be­wondert.

Until now, we have been accustomed to the male, purposeful myths. In contrast, the female creation myths are passive, aimed at a process which leads to harmony. Seen from this angle, everything al ready exists, it no longer needs to be created, only to be acknowledged. Where the man wants to speak the word of creation, the woman waits in silence for creation to happen.
